LBJ's Great Society.
Lyndon B. Johnson was the vice president to John F. Kennedy who would be killed by Lee Harvey Oswald who would also be killed leading to plenty of answered questions and thus a plentiful amount of conspiracy theories around JFK's assassination. LBJ would end up being sworn in that very same day and would be remembered as a good president until the end with Vietnam and would have the largest reforms since the New Deal.
LBJ would sign the Civil Rights Bill which banned discrimination based on race or gender and ended segregation in all public facilities. LBJ would also build on JFK's Peace Corps by creating a massive system of volunteers in the US and especially in schools. LBJ would go on to declare a "war on poverty" and would challenge Americans to create a "great society."
LBJ would also go on to pass the Voting Rights Act which banned literacy tests and other ways of illegally stopping people from voting. He would also lead to the invention of Medicare which was government subsidized health insurance for the elderly. LBJ would also give National Endowment for the arts or putting public money into artists and galleries as well as passing the immigration act which ended discriminatory immigration quotas. However where LBJ would fall is the events in Southeast Asia and would pump money into the Vietnam war rather than to ending poverty.
