The Cold War Erupts
The Cold War started right after the end of WWII and would last for another 45 years. It is called the Cold War because fighting between the US and the USSR the two super powers at the time never really heated up. Some people believe it started before the end of WWII and affects during WWII did lead to the Cold War for one being the little help that the Allies gave the USSR in WWII resulting in the fact that the Soviet Union lost over 20 million compared to Great Britain and the US losing only around 300,000 each. That and also the fact that the US cut off its lend lease deal with the Soviet Union which was giving it both planes and tanks to be used in the fight.
So what? Well for one these events lead directly into the Cold War which has had profound effects today which will be discussed later in this website.
Effects causing the Cold War:
US cutting off its lend lease aid with the Soviet Union.
Allies not coming to the aid of the Soviet Union sooner which resulted in the Soviet Union having over 20 million casualties.
